Sailing
Social
Facilities
The Clubhouse has a well stocked bar and good catering facilities with meals and hot drinks served at Club prices .The club runs on a volunteer basis – it’s member’s work hard to make the club what it is and support the events throughout the year. This is why the Club really does appreciate efforts made by local community members and those representing the community in an official capacity - plus, of course, the membership themselves….
When you join our club you not only have the opportunity to take part in regular sailing events but can also make the most of an active social programme - The programme has included Quiz Nights, Themed events, Dance Nights, Rounders, Barbeque's and beach activities , Local Hikes and Picnics etc...
The clubs tractor is a major plus when towing boats to the beach - and once trained members can use the tractor for the short distance to the launching ramps for a small yearly charge unless paying compound fees.
Members can take the opportunity to hire the clubs fleet of monohulls...
....including, Topper Taz and Toppers at very reasonable rates - so you don't have to own a boat to be part of our club - you can try before you buy!
The boat compound is fully fenced with room for 100 boats and ample parking, it is also within easy reach of the shore. Within 4 miles of the Club there are an assortment of restaurants pubs and other places of entertainment. Facing South, the prevailing South-westerly winds make for good sailing. Launching and landing are possible at almost all states of the tide with concrete ramps giving access to the beach and waters edge.
The Club is currently attracting a healthy fleet of Catamarans including Dart, F18 and Hobie Classes - along with a varied mix more traditional and modern privately and club owned monohulls - With two support boats to call upon when needed beginners and the more experienced sailors can be sure that help will be at hand during the Sailing Seaon.
